I couldn't decide if it was the distant barking dogs
Or the silence of the house that kept me awake
But at two in the morning my restlessness grew
Into a form it sometimes takes
It's strange how you never notice things
Till they've gone bad and it's too late to change
I noticed this night that I really wasn't happy
With the way my life was arranged
So blame it on the sun, blame it on the moon
Blame it on the stars
Blame it on me, blame it on you
But who knows where to start
Sometimes it's best, I guess
If we just don't try to find
Whose fault it is anyway
Lets just call it mine
It's the nature of dogs to bark in the night
When they think there's something wrong
It's the nature of birds to fly across the sky
When they know they've stayed too long
And me, it's just my nature to
Travel on in search of some rainbow
That probably doesn't exist, I'm afraid
But still, I've got to go
So blame it on the sun, blame it on the moon
Blame it on the stars
Blame it on me, blame it on you
But who knows where to start
Sometimes it's best, I guess
If we just don't try to find
Whose fault it is anyway
Lets just call it mine
