Ripped from the void
Ripped from the void
Into the chaos of existence
With the burden of consciousness bestowed
Upon a body so frail
My spirit longs to return
From calvary to the affectionate arms
Of that infinite darkness
Yet in time's grasp
Moments unfold
Eternity breathes
To reveal the static circle
All suffering souls endure
Ripped from the void
With no promise of contentment
No declaration of freedom from distress
The only certainty is the final return
And in that blackness
Stretching beyond the bounds of reality
I will find peace everlasting
In the folded veil of temporality
Yet in a desert scorched by misery
Seeping slowly into sand
And dried by time's cruel hand
Joy comes like rain
Teaching tree leaves to whisper
Joy comes like rain
As a tempest screams
When eternity
Exists in a single moment
Joy and suffering
Intertwine like mother and child
Ripped from the void
Only to return again
At long last
Comes the gentle release
From time's callous hand
At long last
This body, frail
From the weight of consciousness
And many years, now faint, of moments unfolded
Sheds it's homesick spirit
Bound for the calm embrace
Of that unclouded nothingness
