The Sun is consuming, my being, ounce by ounce
Blood is dry and thick, my heart starts to bounce
Inside my chest up and down, harder and faster, out of control
Desperate now must quench my thirst where the cool clear water flows
Down @ the bottom, bottom of the well
Down to the bottom. Where the water, yeah the water, is so cold
The deserts hot, seems it's burning, just like hell
My mind stuck in gridlock, contemplating, only the well
Lost in the heat with no direction, my brain, to dry to think
Tongue is thick and swelling, my kingdom, for a drink
Remember when I was a child, Momma would lower, that bucket down
And when it hit the water, it made such a refreshing sound
That I can hear so clearly though it was many years and miles away
Must gain my strength and courage so I can find my way
