Distantly trickling like rainfall
Dulling my nerves as I land
A glimmer of hope betrays what I know
The surface is all but a memory
Hunter, hunted
Crawling, crunching
On hands and knees they scrape and they bleed
As I pull myself into the black, swallowed in earth
Labyrinth of narrow innards
Unknowable and eons old
Robbed of sight to go insane
From a cacophony of bone
Near-constant collision of remnants
Faintly interrupted by snarling breaths
My mind's playing tricks
Terror firmly grips
Imagining what waits in the darkness
Hunter, hunted
Crawling, crunching
Labyrinth of narrow innards
Unknowable and eons old
Robbed of sight to go insane
From a cacophony of bone
Crawling as the remains puncture
My flesh is torn by victims old
Bones line the ground as I approach it
As I let the darkness engulf
The stench of rot carried on dust and breath
The marrow drips from its jaws
The clattering as it approaches me
Nothing is left but the sound!
CRAWLING
CRUNCHING
TEARING
EATING
Labyrinth of narrow innards
Unknowable and eons old
Robbed of sight to go insane
From a cacophony of bone
Incisors tear through my abdomen
Crying for my life in vain
Its feral claws rip out my sternum
Ripping
Gnawing
Swallowed
Excreted
Bones clattering
In
The
CAVE!"
