WesydeUnderground - Guilt Lyrics

She was a lonely girl ever since her mamma died
And late at night she cries when her daddy comes to "treat her right"
"It's all right baby" he whispers into her ear
But the pain resonates just like the fear
She's always known how low her daddy could go
When she was 4 she saw him choking mommy on the floor
While she hid behind the door
She didn't know the life of pain that she was in for
Now it's 12 years later, and nothing's changed
As she grows more deranged, her daddy can't explain
Why he just can't control the only love he's ever known
He can't imagine her being grown and out of the house alone
So he picks up the phone to make a call
Put an end to it all
An end to his pain, he places the blame
And calls her insane until they came to take her away

It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault

She fights and she screams, they try to put her inside
They stick a needle in her leg as she claws for the eyes
With a surprise she bolts and makes it outside
And heads straight for the woods to find a place to hide
Now deep in the trees
She stops and she sees the blood on her knees
In her reflection off the water she's connected
To this give that she's been gave
This hate, this pain and this rage
As she settles to sleep on the dirt at her feet
Her memories forever creep as she's lost in the deep
Spots in her mind, watching every single time
Seein' it play like a movie in rewind
And time after time it goes back to the day
Her daddy made her mommy go away
She never prayed so hard, and so far
It's only made him break her heart
And break the law

It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault

In the middle of the night she wakes and she screams
She's terrified of what she's realized in her dreams
And as her screams echo off of the lake
She comes to terms with her hate
His life she has to take
And as she makes her way back to the house
With all the lights out
She knows what she's about to be in for
Sneakin' in the back door, opening the kitchen drawer
She's nobody's whore
She grabs a blade to put him away
And up the stairs as he sleeps, stepping in without a peep
She kisses him goodbye and jabs the knife in his eye
Tonight's the night her daddy's gonna die
Thrashing about, she can't get the knife out
And so she pounds away until it pierces his brain
And as he dies, she cries
She just killed the only man she loved in her life

It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
Daddy didn't get caught, daddy didn't get caught
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
It's not her fault, it's not her fault
