The Clash will be honored by the Recording Academy with lifetime achievement awards during a ceremony held during the 2025 Grammys.
Frankie Beverely, Taj Mahal, and Frankie Valli are also set to receive lifetime achievement Grammys at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on February 1st, 2025.
During his lifetime, Prince earned a total 32 Grammy nominations, winning seven awards, including Best Rock Performance for Purple Rain in 1985.
Incredibly, The Clash received only one nomination (which they ended up winning): Best Long Form Music Video for the 2000 documentary film The Clash: Westway to the World.
