Hardy - Quit!! Album Lyrics

Hardy - Quit!! Lyrics
(Featuring Chad Smith, Knox, Fred Durst)

QUIT!!

Somebody wrote "Quit" on a napkin
I took it out of my tip jar, laughing
Like damn, what a asshole, man
I'm just a flat-broke boy with a guitar asking
For anybody to pay attention
It's not like anybody paid admission
I was just wishin' somebody would listen
Give me a shot, and I ain't talkin' 'bout Canadian Mist then

Florida Georgia put me on the map
Morgan put me on the track
F*cked around and penned a couple hits
Chucked 'em out to see if they'd react
Talked about the way of life I live
All the things the country life will give
It's like I never left my neighborhood
But I burned out of it, and I turned out good

If ya ask me
But shit, I ain't the GOAT, I'm the black sheep
Hell-bent to find closure, I can't let go
A note somebody wrote like ten years ago
Put a chip on my shoulder
And if you wanted me to quit, you should've saved it, bro
If you don't wanna start shit, don't say it
And when it comes to the king, that's the radio
If you don't like my shit, don't play it
I don't give a f*ck
I'ma still book arenas and fill 'em up
I'ma still keep singing songs about drinking a fifth of Jack D
Throwing up, then waking up alone in my truck
I heard the voice of God that night
He said, "Keep going, boy, it's all alright
I'ma bless your soul, so one day down the road
You'll be looking in the mirror like, I won that fight"

So before you choose hate, get to know a guy
He might end up a poet that was born to fly
He might end up a man of the people
Damn, what a scene, a redneck glorified
With a stack of awards on a napkin
A bored little bastard wrote to try to warn a guy
Maybe I'm just petty
'Cause they're just metal
Wait, then again, so am I

F*ck you

ROCKSTAR

Everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Runnin' up the Pop charts, talkin' all the shit they do
I been Houdini with my commas, pissin' off my mama, gettin' all these new tattoos
And I ain't sayin' that I'm Nickelback, kickin' it in Cali with today's who's-who
But everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Lately I been feelin' like one so I wrote one too
And it goes like
Yeah, it goes like

Yeah, I got all my idols slidin' in my DMs
They got me dead 'cause they said that I'm killin' it
Started out with rifles, trucks and huntin' season
Now I got my middle finger up like a kid again
Wasn't tryna make it, then I went and made it
Then I made a song about whiskey and they played it
Damn, it's been a good run for a lucky redneck
But I still got a box to check

'Cause everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Runnin' up the Pop charts, talkin' all the shit they do
I been Houdini with my commas, pissin' off my mama, gettin' all these new tattoos
And I ain't sayin' that I'm Nickelback, kickin' it in Cali with today's who's-who
But everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Lately I been feelin' like one so I wrote one too
And it goes like
Yeah, it goes like

I just met a kid with a dip in his lip
He just took the pics and my shit was the shit
Said he went as me for halloween and when he did
Everybody at the party sang, "My town's smaller than your town"
Damn, y'all, what the hell is my life now?
It's like how

Everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Runnin' up the Pop charts, talkin' all the shit they do
I been Houdini with my commas, pissin' off my momma, gettin' all these new tattoos
And I ain't sayin' that I'm Nickelback, kickin' it in Cali with today's who's-who
But everybody's got a song called "Rockstar"
Lately I been feelin' like one so I wrote one too
And it goes like
Yeah, it goes like

Good Girl Phase

[ Featuring Chad Smith ]

Man, I see you holding hands
I see that Cartier you bought a week ago
It's shining like a diamond on her wrist
I bet her ex is pissed
I bet she never talks about him though
Because she don't want you to know
She blew his cash
Maybe it isn't true
Maybe she really is the Mother Mary picture perfect person
God said he would send

I consider you a friend
I don't wanna hurt your feelings but I'm twenty whiskeys in
So

Hey, I don't really think that people change
You just see an angel 'cause she knows how to keep her little wild side hid
You think it's till the grave, but she's just having a midlife crisis
She's Jackie O 'cause she know what your type is
Don't ask me how I know, but I know what I know
And I think it's safe to say
She's a bad, bad girl, she's just going through a good girl phase
Yeah, she's going through a good girl phase

Dude, we really thought you knew
We really thought you'd pick up on it after you laid eyes on her back tattoo
Of a snake
What the f*ck?
Ain't saying that she's fake
Just saying that when she went to the bathroom then came out
It seemed like she was more alert
What's underneath her shirt?
Hell, everybody's seen 'em 'cause she pulled 'em out for beads at Mardi Gras
In New Orleans

I consider you a friend
I don't wanna hurt your feelings but I'm thirty whiskeys in

I bet you hadn't taken her home
Bet you hadn't heard the word around town
She can rock you like a Whitesnake song
And if she did, you would know by now

Hey, I don't really think that people change
You just see an angel 'cause she knows how to keep her little wild side hid
You think it's till the grave, but she's just having a midlife crisis
She's Jackie O 'cause she know what your type is
Don't ask me how I know, but I know what I know
And I think it's safe to say
She's a bad, bad girl, she's just going through a good girl phase

I Don't Miss

Ten years old, 2-43
Big tall tine creeping through the pine trees
Held my breath, steadied my gun
Put it right there where the good blood runs
Tracked his ass down, made the front page
Up there at the deer camp to this day
He's hangin' with the rest of my Boones
As proof

That I don't miss
I don't miss
I don't miss
Mr. Redneck taking you to school, I
Don't hit nothin' but the bullseye
Find one shit song in the archive
Bet ya have a hard time
I don't miss

I left town after nineteen years
A buncha you'll be backs ringin' in my ears
Now I'm up here gettin' hit up for front row tickets
From the same shit talker sellin' ditch weed
Workin' at the Conoco

That I don't miss
I don't miss
I don't miss
Mr. Redneck taking you to school, I
Don't hit nothin' but the bullseye
Find one shit song in the archive
Bet ya have a hard time
I don't miss (Miss)
I don't f*cking miss (Miss)

Yeah
I ain't Jordan but my first name's Michael
And I swear with my hand on the Bible
Long as y'all keep feelin' this shit
Well I'ma keep shooting 'cause
I don't miss

I don't miss
Mr. Redneck taking you to school, I
Don't hit nothing but the bullseye
Find one shit song in the archive
Bet ya have a hard time
I don't miss

PSYCHO

I met your friends at the bar last night
I think the round of limoncello won 'em over
I said we're perfect, hell we hardly ever fight
I told 'em you're a queen, I'm just a lucky joker
Things are goin' great, yeah, we communicate
Lovin' you is easier than ever
I pray you never go, there's something you should know
I hope you stay forever 'cause

If you ever leave me, girl, I'll get a face tattoo
Steal a truck, end up on the six o'clock news
If you say goodbye, hell, I'll dye my hair
Crash your birthday party in my underwear
Hey, I hope you never have to see the day
But if you ever walk away, well
Everybody you know, everybody I know's
Gonna know you fell in love with a psycho

I met your mom, your dad, I met your older brother
Even your bestie says we're perfect for each other
They say they love me, and they think that I'm the best
They think they know me, but they don't know me as your ex 'cause

If you ever leave me, girl, I'll get a face tattoo
Steal a truck, end up on the six o'clock news
If you say goodbye, hell, I'll dye my hair
Crash your birthday party in my underwear
Hey, I hope you never have to see the day
But if you ever walk away, well
Everybody you know, everybody I know's
Gonna know you fell in love with a psycho

If you ever leave me, if you ever say goodbye
I'll make the world say, "Why'd you ever f*ck with that guy?
Why'd you ever f*ck with that guy?"

If you ever leave me, girl, I'll get a face tattoo
Steal a truck, end up on the six o'clock news
If you say goodbye, hell, I'll dye my hair
Crash your birthday party in my underwear
Hey, I hope you never have to see the day
But if you ever walk away, well
Everybody you know, everybody I know's
Gonna know you fell in love with a psycho

Happy Hour

[ Featuring Knox ]

I don't know why they call it "happy hour"
'Cause I'm here feeling bad
Drinking whiskey but I'm sour
'Cause she ain't coming back
And I'm looking 'round the bar
Half drunk and half mad
'Cause they call it "happy hour"
But everybody in here is sad
So sad

It's sunny and it's seventy-five
What the hell am I doing here?
Staring at a half-lit neon sign
And I don't even like that beer
It's like nobody wants to be in this place
Oh, but nobody wants to go home
Ain't it funny how we're all in here together
But we're all sittin' all alone?

So I don't know why they call it "happy hour"
'Cause I've been feeling bad
Drinking whiskey but I'm sour
'Cause she ain't coming back
And I'm looking 'round the bar
Half drunk and half mad
'Cause they call it "happy hour"
But everybody in here is sad
So sad

All the drunks drink for cheap
Shit, that's what they should call it
All got somewhere to be
But we're all alcoholics
So we numb all the pain while the sun's still in the sky
But damn, what's more depressing than a f*cking hangover at night? (Yeah)

My stupid ex got me blocked
I got some bills that ain't paid
I got a truck in the shop
Ooh
Ain't got no smile on my face
Yeah, we might save a few bucks
But that ain't saving our soul
So I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
Ooh

I don't know why they call it "happy hour"
'Cause I'm here feeling bad
Drinking whiskey but I'm sour
'Cause she ain't coming back
And I'm looking 'round the bar
Half drunk and half mad
'Cause they call it "happy hour"
But everybody in here is sad
Sad
So sad

Sad
Everybody in here is sad
Sad
So sad
Sad

Jim Bob

Jim Bob drinks his coffee with a Pall Mall and a Keystone
Sits out on his front porch with his flea-infested dogs
Caught a little shrapnel from some boom boom in his knee bone
Pops a half a Percocet to keep the hurtin' off

And they say, "Jim Bob go to work
Quit livin' for the buzz
Jim Bob go to church"
But Jim Bob never does
"We don't wanna see you waste your life away"
He lights another cigarette and all he's got to say is

All I wanna do until they lay my body down's
Take my pills, pay my bills, blow the rest all on some Crown
Fill this Boone and Crockett holler with 'Country Boy Can Survive'
Get f*cked up on my back forty, point my pistol to the sky
Make it go pow, pow, pow
Somebody gonna go, "Wow, wow, wow
That boy's got some demons, he's a heathen, put him at a pew
He need some Jesus now, now, now"
I don't know how, how, how or when it will be
All I know's I'm gonna live this redneck life until it kills me

Jim Bob's got his name already written on some granite
Main Street Cemetery underneath that water oak
He says he never seen it 'cause he hates them city limits
In the back of a black Cadillac's the only way he'll go, and he goes

All I wanna do until they lay my body down's
Take my pills, pay my bills, blow the rest all on some Crown
Fill this Boone and Crockett holler with 'Country Boy Can Survive'
Get f*cked up on my back forty, point my pistol to the sky
Make it go pow, pow, pow
Somebody gonna go, "Wow, wow, wow
That boy's got some demons, he's a heathen, put him at a pew
He need some Jesus now now, now"
I don't know how, how, how or when it will be
All I know's I'm gonna live this redneck life until kills me

Whybmwl

You came from outta nowhere
Pink flower cowboy boots
I watched your long dark hair
Light up that dim lit room
"Where have you been my whole life?"
That's what I thought to myself
Took a shot of Sazerac rye
Walked up, why not? What the hell?
Asked you if it was Heaven
'Cause angels are from there
Said it wasn't, but it had to be somewhere

It turns out it was Southern California
Population, millions minus you
I'd give anything to see you in your Honda
Breaking hearts like you couldn't help but do

I bet your hometown hates me
'Cause they always thought you'd stay
Drives your ex-boyfriend crazy
'Cause you're the one that got away
Yeah, girl, I've always wondered
Since the day I said, "Hello"
Where you been my whole life?
Well, baby, now I know
Yeah, baby, now I know

You said I had to see it all
I said, "That's alright with me"
We loaded up and drove off
Didn't stop till we saw the beach
I spent the next seven days
Seeing you relive seventeen
Running 'round the place that made the
Girl of my dreams and

Turns out it was Southern California
Population, millions minus you
I'd give anything to see you in your Honda
Breaking hearts like you couldn't help but do

I bet your hometown hates me
'Cause they always thought you'd stay
Drives your ex-boyfriend crazy
'Cause you're the one that got away
Yeah, girl, I've always wondered
Since the day I said, "Hello"
Where you been my whole life?
Well, baby, now I know
Baby, now I know

Just a Mississippi boy
Chasing Mississippi girls
Never thought God had one waiting me on the other side of my world
The other side of my world

Yeah, girl, I've always wondered
Since the day I said, "Hello"
Where you been my whole life
Well, now I know

Time To Be Dead

Heartbreak on the tv, sixteen with a needle
Why not make it legal, dirt under the rug
Blame it on the drug, everyone shrugs in the mirror
Somewhere under water, somewhere overheated
Somewhere someone's daughter swept up in a prius
Never met the wizard, dominoes fall every year
Why don't we all disappear?

Oh, what a time to be dead
No ticking clock in your head
Cold in your bones, six feet in the ground
Way up here in hell, the world is burning down
Can't believe that I'm so envious
Of a heart that'll never gonna beat again because
Hate is in the black, love is in the red
God is locked up, oh, what a time to be
Dead, dead, dead, dead (dead, dead, dead, dead)

Someone get a shovel, I'll go get the rifle
Let's all quote the bible, dig a deeper hole
Grey squirrel in a skillet, that's what I call living the dream
Watching earth come apart at the seams
At the seams

Oh, what a time to be dead
No ticking clock in your head
Cold in your bones, six feet in the ground
Way up here in hell, the world is burning down
Can't believe that I'm so envious
Of a heart that'll never gonna beat again because
Hate is in the black, love is in the red
God is locked up, oh, what a time to be
Dead, dead (dead, dead)

Watching uranium rain on a stadium
Who'd be insane enough to wanna see that
Sinking our teeth into the mother that feeds us
Hell, I wonder if jesus even wants
Jesus even wants to come back

Oh, what a time to be dead
No ticking clock in your head
Cold in your bones, six feet in the ground
Way up here in hell, the world is burning down
Can't believe that I'm so envious
Of a heart that'll never gonna beat again because
Hate is in the black, love is in the red
God is locked up, oh, what a time to be
Dead, dead, dead, dead (dead, dead, dead, dead)
Dead, dead (dead, dead)

Soul4sale

[ Featuring Fred Durst ]

I got a soul for sale, meet me in the parking lot
You can have it for a bargain, I just wanna play guitar
And make enough to keep some foreigns in my thirteen-car garage
I got a soul for sale, just sitting here collecting dust
Heard the devil'd make an offer, all I gotta do is holler
I been thinking 'bout calling that mother f*cker up and saying

Yo, yo, come on
Hardy wants some brand new foreigns for his new collection (Damn)
But me I want the cross from the resurrection (Jesus)
So I can clone the one and only man himself (Jesus)
The second coming (Come on)
To help us all get out this Hell (Please help us)
Never mind those bitches (Bitches)
You been f*ckin' with this (Bitches)
Your constitution on some lame ass business shit or is it (Or is it)
You'll go to find that diamond (Find that diamond)
On point with epic timin' (Epic timin')
Well look no further D, I got that country Bizkit rhymin'

I got a soul for sale, meet me in the parking lot
You can have it for a bargain, I just wanna play guitar
And make enough to keep some foreigns in my thirteen-car garage
I got a soul for sale, just sitting here collecting dust
Heard the devil'd make an offer, all I gotta do is holler
I been thinking 'bout calling that motherf*cker up and saying

I'm ready for the weekdays to turn into the weekends
Never know what day it is
Singin' songs to my friends on a Sunday
Sippin' spiked lemonade until the morning on Monday
Whatever it takes to be free and have this melody feed my entire family
Just sign a motherf*cker up and do it ASAP
I'll put my blood on the line so we can call it a wrap
'Cause I

I got a soul for sale, meet me in the parking lot
You can have it for a bargain, I just wanna play guitar
And make enough to keep some foreigns in my thirteen-car garage
I got a soul for sale, just sitting here collecting dust
Heard the devil'd make an offer, all I gotta do is holler
I been thinking 'bout calling that motherf*cker up and saying

I don't know what gives, I don't know what gives
I can't sit here waiting fading anymore

I got a soul for sale, meet me in the parking lot
You can have it for a bargain, I just wanna play guitar
And make enough to keep some foreigns in my thirteen-car garage
I got a soul for sale, just sitting here collecting dust

Live Forever

She's never gonna drive a car
A car, a car
She's never gonna fall in love
Fall in love
She's never gonna feel that feeling of a Friday night freedom anymore
And it's all because
You couldn't shake the demons off
Demons off
You had to turn the devil loose
Devil loose
Yeah, I don't know if your sentence makes you regret that you did it
But some things you can't undo

I guess some people don't get what they deserve
They gave you life 'cause you took away hers
Do you even have a heart beating in your chest?
Well, you gotta I guess

If the good die young, get laid in the dirt
Because they did a lot of good on Earth
Then I guess that means that the ones that didn't
Are stuck livin' life in a guilt trip prison
One day we'll all be dead
And you'll be wishin' that you were instead
Yeah, when it comes to the worst, nobody does it better
If the good die young, you're gonna live forever
Forever
Hey

You're gonna have to watch the world go dark
Go dark
And everything you love waste away
Waste away
Tell me, are you scared to death to never breathe your last breath
No matter how hard you pray?

I guess some people don't get what they deserve
They gave you life 'cause you took away hers
Ain't a bomb they can drop that you won't survive
You're gonna be the last man alive

If the good die young, get laid in the dirt
Because they did a lot of good on Earth
Then I guess that means that the ones that didn't
Are stuck livin' life in a guilt trip prison

Orphan

My momma, she's the Bible, and my daddy, he's the ink
You put 'em both together, get exactly what you think
A redneck with a rifle in a break-the-cycle shirt
Stained up in some red that's either whitetail blood or dirt

Back home, I fit in just fine
But 'round here, it kinda feels like

Somebody left me in a basket on the front steps
Screaming bloody murder at the church door
Sittin' on some songs nobody sung yet
Guitar's so damn loud, it's drowning out all the chords that Sixteenth Avenue was built on
Lord, please forgive me, I'm just tryna find my home
All alone, just me and this middle finger sound
The orphan of this country music town

I tried to be the bullet that was supposed to fit the gun
Chase the fame by playing the game that gets your record spun
It ain't like they went and kicked me
Outside into the rain
I'd just rather be that rebel kid with just one name, like

Somebody left me in a basket on the front steps
Screaming bloody murder at the church door
Sittin' on some songs nobody sung yet
Guitar's so damn loud, it's drowning out all the chords that Sixteenth Avenue was built on
Lord, please forgive me, I'm just tryna find my home
All alone, just me and this middle finger sound
The orphan of this country music town
Of this country music town, yeah

Somebody left me in a basket on the front steps
Screaming bloody murder at the church door
Sittin' on some songs nobody sung yet
Guitar's so damn loud, it's drowning out all the chords that Sixteenth Avenue was built on
Lord, please forgive me, I'm just tryna find my home

Six Feet Under (Caleigh's Song)

Where do you go when you die?
How do you know when you're there?
If Heaven's a moment you wish never ended
Then I'm six feet under somewhere
I'm six feet under somewhere

Oh, what I'd give for a bottle to keep
These memories forever locked up in my heart
Why can't I just relive your sweet words on repeat?
The ones that you said making my last name ours
My darling, this feeling's one I never imagined
Yeah, I just hope Jesus forgives me for askin', but

Where do you go when you die?
How do you know when you're there?
If Heaven's a moment you wish never ended
Then I'm six feet under somewhere
But I'm six feet under somewhere

I swear to God, I thought I was dead
On the side of the road with glass in my head
Ah, but death ain't what scared me to death in the end
It was thinking I'd never see you again

See you again

Where do you go when you die?
How do you know when you're there?
If Heaven's a moment you wish never ended
Then I'm six feet under somewhere
I'm six feet under somewhere

I'm six feet under somewhere

Quit!! is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Hardy. It was released on July 12, 2024, through Big Loud Rock. It features guest appearances from Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Knox and Fred Durst.

The "aggressive" lead single of the same name was released on January 12. The story of the title goes back "almost a decade ago" to when Hardy found a napkin with the word "quit" on it in his tip jar after a singer-songwriter show in Nashville, Tennessee.

He uses the "discouragement as fuel", documenting his journey from a struggling Nashville newcomer to becoming a commercially successful artist himself.
